Part-V Extension Programme

National Service Scheme (NSS): This is a two-year programme providing an opportunity to the students to work with people, to engage in creative and constructive social action thereby enhancing the knowledge of herself and the community. It includes lectures on the health-related topics, awareness sessions on social issues, tutoring school children, training on service-oriented skills & interaction with persons in charge of institutions or organizations and inmates of homes, rehabilitation centers and hospitals. A special camp for seven days is organized for the NSS students to gain experimental exposure.
Physical Education- Athletic (PEA): Players are encouraged to participate in extra murals to develop leadership, co-operation, courage, endurance and loyalty. A sports team member is expected to attend physical Education classes twice a week and participate in morning and evening practice for Inter-Collegiate, Inter-University, District and open Sports and Tournaments. Any one of the following games can be chosen – Basket Ball, Foot Ball, Volley Ball, Kho-Kho, Ball Badminton, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Chess, Badminton, Hockey, Track and Field. The students will be trained on College Band.
Physical Education- Band (PEB): The programme aims to execute the proper playing position, instrument assembly, maintenance and care of band instruments by the students. The students will be familiarized in understanding and experiencing the aesthetics of music. Band students will demonstrate the concepts of concert pitch, transposing instruments and articulation in the due course of training given by experts.
Red Ribbon Club (RRC):This programme exposes the students to the correct, concise, adequate information on HIV/AIDS/STDs/ and sexual reproductive health related issues. Students are sensitized regarding care and support to be given to the HIV & AIDs affected needy people who are living with stigma. The students volunteer in organizing blood donation camps and donate blood to the needy.
Youth Red Cross: (YRC): This programme inculcates in the youth awareness about physical and mental health. It cultivates and maintains the spirit of service and being helpful to others and being helpful to others and especially to the less fortunate. It also creates an understanding and acceptance of civic and human responsibilities. It enables the students to develop mental and moral capabilities of youth and promotes national friendship. The students of this extension programme get training on Disaster Management, First Aid, Road safety, etc.
Library Service Programme: (LSP): This programme enables the students to serve the user community by involving in documentation, cataloging, computerizing the source of information etc. This programme enhances the appreciation on the collection of books and value of it, thereby promoting the reading habit. The activities include visiting other libraries especially schools at rural area and extending the service for the user community.
